Sajjadhosseini talks more about "Train" and his acting career.
Have you started theater in 1960s?
Yes. I started playing theater in Ahvaz high schools early 1960s.
Was 1940s peaks of Iran theater with the presence of legendary figures such as Samandarian, Nasirian and Entezami?
Yes. It was the peak. I migrated to Tehran after my graduation and started taking lessons of performing arts and theater from maestro Mahin Oskoei.
Does it mean you take your lessons in Anahita Dramatic Arts Institute?
No. Mahin Oskoei was separated from Mostafa Oskoei at that time. I started my career with Zaman Ensemble and Mahin Oskoei then. My first serious experience as professional actor was "The Lower Depths" by Maxim Gorky. I was simultaneously assistant director of the play. It was not typical for plays to have assistant director and all affairs had been handled by actors during rehearsals.
What was your role in "The Lower Depths"?
I played Medvedev. I played in "Three Sisters" for Ms Oskoei and it was a brilliant act. I returned to Ahvaz after the 1979 Islamic Revolution. I performed several pieces there and returned to Tehran in mid-1960s and distanced from performing arts to work in cinema and television.
Did you return to theater with Davoud Mirbaqeri's "Golden Tooth"?
Yes. In "Golden Tooth", I was assistant and planner for Davoud Mirbaqeri. I played for some nights in the play too. I directed "Golden Tooth" in Hozeh Honari a year later.
You are on set after 20 years with "Train". What was your feeling when you saw the spectators after two decades?
I started with too much stress on the first show. I still have lots of stresses after seven shows. Renowned performing artists believe any actor who does not have stress before performance, something is wrong with him/her. This stress is kind of respect to spectators to have an accomplished acting for them.
