Behrouz Gharibpour said that launch of a puppet museum was result of studious labor and joining of hands by cultural officials and artists, irantheater.ir reported.
Ali Asghar Karandish, deputy culture and Islamic guidance minister for management and resources, Mahdi Shafiee, director general of Dramatic Arts Center, Mahdi Afzali, managing director of Contemporary Arts Development Institute, Ali Asghar Safipour, managing director of Roudaki Foundation, Armaghan Behdarvand, managing director of Iran Dramatic Arts Associaton and a number of artists attended the opening of the museum. The ceremony attended Aran Theater Troupe and head of the group, Behrouz Gharibpour.
Mehdi Shafiee expressed satisfaction over the opening of the museum, saying that designation of a day as the National Theatre Day as well as a metro station as the City Theatre Complex were two important events of the last year.
Mr Shafiee later read the message of Ali Moradkhani, deputy culture minister for artistic affairs, because the later was on a visit in Tunisia.
"It is pleasant to be with you in the first National Theatre Day during the time of spring and Nowruz. Today is March 27…Designation of a day of theatre is not just a symbolized move but an emphasis on the social and influential role of theatre as well as the result of the determination of artists to improve today and have enthusiasm for tomorrow…I express happiness over the opening of this museum, which is the result of prudence and thoughtfulness of the artist Behrouz Gharibpour…It deserves to thank efforts exerted by my colleagues in the Dramatic Arts Center, Theater Forum, Iran Dramatic Arts Association, Contemporary Arts Development Institute. I also thank valuable attention of Public Culture Council and Supreme Council of Cultural Revolution.
Mr Gharibpour described the opening of the museum as a positive sign for theatre this year.
