"Karname-ye Bondar-e Bidakhsh", which is written by internationally-acclaimed Iranian playwright and director Bahram Beyzai, will be performed in Arghanoun Theater. Arash Arshadad will direct the piece. It is the second time Mr Arshadad will stage the play in Arghanoun Theater.

"Karname-ye Bondar-e Bidakhsh" is one of the critically-acclaimed plays by Bahram Beyzai which was staged by Mr Arshadad last year, some 20 years after Mr Beyzai had directed a piece based on the play in the City Theater Complex, irantheater.ir reported.

Mehdi Hashemi and Parviz Pourhosseini acted in the piece directed by Mr Beyzai in 1997.

The show will start on April 21 in Arghanoun Theater and will be performed for a month.

Bondar is the one who has made Jame Jam (The Cup of Jamshid which is for divination and in Persian mytolog was possessed by the rulers of ancient Iran, Many Persian poets attribute the success of Persian rulers to the possession of the cup. It is said to be filled with an elixir of immortality and was believed all seven heavens of the universe could be seen by looking into it) for Jamshid, the mythological figure of the Persian culture.

He trusts Jamshid, the Persian ruler and teaches him all the knowledge on how to rule the world. But Jamshid uses Bondar as a ladder to reach the top. When in power, Jamshid forsakes Bondar and puts him in jail later on the fear that Bondar will teach his enemies the knowledge too. The prison, Rooyineh Dej, is built by the knowledge of Bondar itself. Bondar thinks about his past in prison, regretting that why he was so optimistic about Jamshid.
