Director of Dramatic Arts Center to Inaugurate

Construction Jiroft Theater Venue

Jiroft in southern province of Kerman will have a theater venue after the project to construct the theater space was opened by director general of Dramatic Arts Center.

The project to start the construction of the theater hall was opened on Monday in a ceremony attended by Mahdi Shafiee, director general of Dramatic Arts Center, Armaghan Behdarvand, managing director of Iran Society of Dramatic Arts, Atabak Naderi, provincial coordination director of Dramatic Arts Center and Jalal Tajangi, an advisor to director general of Dramatic Arts Center, irantheater.ir reported.

Theater hall project in Jiroft started on Monday based on a memorandum of understanding between Kerman governorate general, Zarand, Sirjan, Bam, Jiroft and Kahnouj municipalities last year.

Theater venues in Zarand and Bam are almost complete while in 70 per cent in Sirjan is finished.

Atabak Naderi, provincial coordination director of Dramatic Arts Center, said that the delegation would pay a visit to Kahnouj after inauguration of project in Jiroft.

He added that the municipalities would construct the venues and Dramatic Arts Center would equip them based on an agreement between them.

Atabak Naderi said that two theater halls would open in southern province of Hormuzgan in the second half of the current Persian year, which started on March 21.

Mr Shafiee opened a private-run theater space in the holy city of Mashahd last week.

Mashahd Independent Theater Complex opened by Mr Shafiee in Mashahd on April 30.

The complex is the first theater complex, which is run by private sector in the eastern Iran. It has two black box theaters.

It has also a rehearsal set, training classes, recording studios and a library.
