Hamid Labkhandeh, director of Samandarian Academy, said that district 12 of Tehran Municipality had promised to give the academy a place within the first half of the current Iranian calendar year, which started on March 21.
Hamid Labkahndeh, renowned director, told irantheater.ir that the annual festival of the academy would take place in Baroque Palace in October as previous years.
He explained that the academy had two annual festivals; one which was held by students of Mr Samandarian on his birth anniversary and the second which was founded by his wife late actress Homa Rousta.
The latter --"Academy Festival"—would award two top plays of the year by its jury, he added.
On admitting students to the academy, Mr Labkhandeh said the aim was to train students in the academy but the number of the applicants had been many so some exams were taken to keep the quality high.
Mr Labkhandeh, who has so far directed "The Just" and "The Misunderstanding" by Albert Camus, said that he did not plan direction of any new shows because the actors had to play two pieces a day to make ends meet and this had discouraged him of any new work.
The director of the TV series of "Under Your Protection" and "In My Heart" said that he was busy with teaching these days but he had given a film script to the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance and would start directing it with his students when it gets the permission.
