Aida Keikhaii to Stage "Iceland" in Canada

Iranian theater director Aida Keykhaii will stage "Iceland", written by Canadian writer Nicolas Billon, in Canada after its successful performance in Tehran.

The play is translated in Farsi by Zohreh Javaheri and noted director Mohammad Yaghoubi is its dramaturge, irantheater.ir reported.

The piece was performed at Baran Theater in December.

Azadeh Samadi, Bahareh Kianafshar and Ehsan Karami will play in "Iceland", which will be performed in Vancouver on June 9 and Toronto on June 13.

"Iceland" received Summerworks NOW Audience Choice Award and Summerworks Contra Guys Award for Outstanding New Performance Text.

Born in 1978, Nicolas Billon is best known for his plays "The Elephant Song", "Iceland" and "Butcher". The play, written in 2012, tells the story of three unconnected characters caught up with money and morals.
