Zahedan City Theater Complex Opens

A group of artists, officials and theater lovers of southeastern province of Sistan-Baluchestan attended the ceremony to commemorate the World Theater Day, irantheater.ir reported.

Hossein Mesgarani, province's director general of Culture and Islamic Guidance Department, said that a plan to have public performances had led to performing of 15 plays from December 2016 until April 2017 in the province.

He added that the department would support the plan to help theater groups have more performances.

Atabak Naderi, director of Dramatic Arts Center for coordination affairs, said that the family of theater in the province should be encouraged to do more public performances, adding that the brilliant plays were those which can attract more audience rather than receiving awards in the festivals.

A tribute paid to two veteran theater artists of the province Ali Asghar Ensafjou and Mohammad Reza Hedayati during the ceremony. Also, Mojtaba Rezaei, Ramin Rokhforouz, Zakaria Molazei, Sadegh Sohrabi, Hakim Dad, Hossein Bor, Omid Mir and Somayeh Shahbakhsh were commemorated and received honorary diploma.

Three plays "Open Space", "Tragedy of Rostam and Sohrab" by Rohullah Kaykha Shahri, "Tower 31" by Saeed Badini, were performed for theater-lovers.
