Sympathy for Kabul Bomb Explosion Victims

“ME” International Theater Festival Opens with Two Iranian Plays in Germany

“ME” International Theater Festival opened on June 1 with a video art by Mohammad Hossein Tehrani and "Messengers" by Hamid Mahnani in Würzburg’s Neunerplatz Theater.

Opening of “ME” International Theater Festival was warmly welcomed by German audience, irantheater.ir reported.

Secretary of the festival, Jafar Mahyari, expressed sympathy for the victims of Afghan bomb explosion last week, saying that the festival aimed at reaching a united human in which bodies and thoughts were trying to reach peace and good co-existence.

Poor dialogue among culture, religions and ideas had been led to such bitter incidents across the world, particularly Middle East today, said Mr Mahyari. "I am happy that the art of theater sees artists who are interested in picturing peace and compassion for the contemporary humans with their arts," he added.

He added that the festival opened with artists from five countries but predicted that the festival would turn into a center for all freedom seeking artists of the world one day.

The festival was organized by Tehran’s Zendegi Theater Company and Würzburg’s Neunerplatz Theater.

Groups from France, Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and Iran will take part in the festival.

The festival will take place in Würzburg from May 27 to June 2.
