Farzin Mohades, actor, is playing an acclaimed role as Alireza Nadali, who had been a member of Islamic Republic Party, in “Seven Days of Tir (June) 1981”.
On attractions of the play, Mr Mohades told Iran Theater that it was a true story of an event in the country’s contemporary history.
“I like such plays and such roles. I think Kamran Shahlaei has written a good story and all matters related to direction, set designing and prepared videos have been attractive and are featuring part of Iran history very well and I enjoy picturing them,” he added.
The actor explained that he had not seen Alireza Nadali in person but Karman Shahlaei, the writer of the play, had seen it and given him a detail account to play the role better.
“I personally read his interviews and memoirs to be closer to my role,” he added.
On why the youth are still fascinated by the character of martyr Beheshti (Seyyed Mohammad Hosseini Beheshti, a jurist, cleric and politician who was known as the second person in the political hierarchy of Iran after the 1979 Islamic Revolution. He was assassinated along with more than 70 members of the Islamic Republic Party), Mr Mohades said Mr Beheshti had been a multi-faceted figure who could play very important roles in the Islamic Republic if he had not been martyred.
“As [the founder of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Ruhollah] Imam Khomeini said, martyr Beheshti was a nation. The last monologue of the play when I had to explain the moments of explosion and talk about the martyrdom saddens me every night,” Mr Mohades said.
The actor explained that he was happy to work with Mr Shahlaei and Larati (director), stressing that the explosion on June 28, 1981 was a national incident.
