Deputy culture and Islamic guidance minister for artistic affairs said that improving the culture would be a factor in reducing social disorders, adding that construction of a theater space in Bojnourd was a necessity.
Ali Moradkhani stressed in a meeting with North Khorasan governor general on improvement of culture in the society and investment in the field through efforts of officials and executive bodies.
He added that budget allocated to the culture and Islamic guidance departments of the provinces should increase and their financial problems should be solved, Iran Theater reported.
Referring to assistance of governor generals in organizing the art festivals, Mr Moradkhani regretted that the budget of RAZAVI Theater Festival decreased this year and hoped that provincial financial assistance would help prevent any failure in execution of its plans.
Given the cultural potential of Bojnourd, the official called on the provincial officials to increase cooperation between provinces of North Khorasan and Razavi Khorasan for theater groups to come to the city, which is capital of North Khorasan province, from Mashhad (center of Razavi Khorasan province) to perform plays.
Deputy minister described the festival as important for dramatic arts and Islamic values, calling on officials to help increase enthusiasm of the local audience to theater by two times.
The 12th Annual RAZAVI National Theater Festival opened over the weekend. It closed on August 2.
133 plays were submitted to the festival of which 44 reached the production section. The final shows of the festival had been eight. The festival had two guest plays, which had been performed in the cities of Shirvan and Esfarayen.
