A Lion Writes Cookbook

“Tarabnameh of Shahre Khail” by Kayvan Nakhaei will be performed at the 18th Traditional/Ritual Theater Festival. Which opens on August 30 in Tehran.
“Tarabnameh of Shahre Khail”, Kayvan Nakhaei said, was a tribute to Iranian theater artists who helped Iranian theater stand on its feet despite facing numerous problems, Iran Theater reported.
The perseverance and determination of these artists who worked in the field of ritual and traditional theater had helped Iranian theater and its positive impacts remain, he added.
“Tarabnameh of Shahre Khail” would talk about today’s issues, the director said, explaining that those experts of Iranian theater stand against each other in this play.
Mr Nakhaei said that styles of Iranian theater such as Ta’zieh, Pardeh Khani and Takhte Hozi would be featured in the play.
On the festival, the director said it was necessary, hoping that the ground would be paved for these plays to have public performance throughout the year.
He predicted that the audience would welcome such Iranian plays, stressing that the results of the biennial festival should be seen by the people.
Iran must improve styles of Iranian theater if it wanted to have a say in the world theater, the writer of “Where the Sidewalk Ends” said.
