In Farewell Ceremony of Former Culture Minister:
New Minister Seyyed Abbas Salehi: Iran Is Alive with Culture and Art
Seyyed Abbas Salehi, new minister culture and Islamic guidance, said that the soul of Iran was alive to its culture and art, adding that the world had known Iran as a culture loving nation and it was a pity that Iran name would be defined with Iranophobia.
The Iranian art could shine Iran better and this art was not dependent on the past but its contemporary dynamic art, he explained, Iran Theater reported.
"How many decades Iran had invested for production of its car? Does the world know Iran with its car? How much we have invested for our cinema? Does the world know the Islamic republic for its Oscar awards or paintings or music? Iranians are dynamic. Iranians had not stood against Mongol invasion just with its army. They defeated Mongols with their art and culture," the minister said.
Mr Salehi said that the security and secure policy should not be dependent on the country's oil and gas resources although they are important…and Iran has a chance to have a globalized art and culture.
The farewell and introduction ceremony began on Saturday with Iran's national anthem and a symphony conducted by Shardad Rohani.
