Tabriz's Ayna Theater Ensemble Receives "Caspian Pearl"

Tabriz's Ayna Theater Ensemble, which had performed "Robinson Crusoe" by Alireza Koushk-Jalali at the First International Theatre Festival of Caspian Countries in Kazakhstan, received "Caspian Pearl" title.

Ali Fotouhi, who heads the ensemble, said that the group had travelled to Kazakhstan to perform "Robinson Crusoe" by Alireza Koushk-Jalali. Ali Fotouhi and Rashad Moeini played in the show.

"Robinson Crusoe" received the title of "Caspian Pearl" by the jury, Iran Theater reported.

He added that the title was the top award of the festival, adding that Shalaleh Bahojb-Qodsi and Fatemeh Abdousian were other members of the ensemble.

Atabak Naderi, Iranian theater director and official, accompanied the group. He received a medallion of TURKSOY, the International Organization of Turkic Culture, in the festival.

Mr Fotouhi thanked the East Azerbaijan association of dramatic arts, province's culture and Islamic guidance department and Dramatic Arts Center for assisting them to take part in the festival.

Participation in the festival and warm enthusiasm of the spectators proved that Tabriz and Iran theater had much to say, he explained, adding that the group was invited to attend an international theater festival in Turkey, too.    

Tabriz's Ayna Theater Ensemble performed "Robinson Crusoe" at the First International Theatre Festival of Caspian Countries in Aktau, Kazakhstan on August 27. The piece received warm welcome by the spectators.

The play is against war and tries to convey message of peace and friendship.

"Robinson Crusoe" was inspired by the character of Robinson Crusoe but it has two characters; Robinson and Crusoe. They want to kill each other as enemies but the finally establish a friendly relationship.  

TURKSOY has organized the International Theater Festival of Caspian Sea Countries in Aktau, Kazakhstan on August 24th-28th.  

The festival was dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the birthday of the famous Kazak scriptwriter and director Asanali Ashimov. It was aimed to strengthen cultural ties among theaters of Caspian Sea countries and encourage new initiatives in the field of theater through the creation of the infrastructure necessary to carry out joint projects.
