Sixth International Seminar of 18th Ritual/Traditional Theater Festival Closes
Jalal Sattari: Inter-Culture Connection Path to Social Development
Jalal Sattari, Iranian theater researcher and author, said in a message to the closing ceremony of the Sixth International Seminar of 18th Ritual/Traditional Theater Festival on Thursday that relations between cultures would help open path to social development.
The Sixth International Seminar of 18th Ritual/Traditional Theater Festival closed on Thursday in which two Iranian researchers and one foreign expert received Jalal Sattari Award for their studies on ritual and traditional theater.
Parviz Mamnoun, Iranian author, director and researcher, Hamid Reza Ardalan, researcher of performing arts rituals and Jacque Trudeau, former secretary general of Union Internationale de La Marionette (UNIMA), received the award, Iran Theater reported.
Jalal Sattari could not attend the closing ceremony due to illness but Laleh Taqian, his wife, said that she should be close to Sattari because he needed him to stay healthy and do studies for Iran culture and art.
Mr Sattari, in a short message to seminar, thanked the organizers, saying that the world enjoyed cultural diversity and the effort to establish connection among them could open windows for social development.
Mr Sattari wished success for the organizers and praised them.
Parviz Mamnoun was not in Iran to receive the award but Davoud Fathalibeigi, secretary of the festival, received the award on his behalf, saying that he was proud to receive it as a student of Mr Mamnoun.
Mr Mamnoun, author, researcher, actor and director, had been head of Theater Department of Tehran University for many years and had trained many students.
Jacque Trudeau, former secretary general of Union Internationale de La Marionette (UNIMA), received his award from Mohammad Hossein Naserbakht, secretary of seminar. He said receiving the award had surprised him.
Mr Trudeau said he had many amazing friends in Iran and did not expect to receive the award.
Hamid Reza Ardalan received the award from Davoud Fathalibeigi and Payman Shariati, director of the City Theater Complex.
He praised Mr Sattari because of his translation of more than 100 books to introduce the world culture figures to Iranians in the field of mythology. Mr Ardalan said that he was proud to be a student of Mr Sattari.
Mr Ardalan has collected Iran's music and performing arts rituals for three decades.
