Ali Nasirian in 18th Ritual/Traditional Theater Festival

Educational Workshop Essential

Ali Nasirian, renowned Iranian theater author, director and actor, watched "Bongahe Theatral (Theatre Institute)" at Plateau Hall of the City Theater Complex on Sunday.

The traditional piece, which is written by Mr Nasirian, is directed by Nasim Taji. It is taking part in the 18th Ritual/Traditional Theater Festival, which will close in Tehran on September 6, Iran Theater reported.
Mr Nasirian talked about his play after the performance, saying that it did not occur to his mind that any director would ever perform his play when he was writing it because "I was writing it to perform it with my own method and style".
"I found it amazing that some artists have chosen the play for performance made some changes in its ambience," he added.
Mr Nasirian stressed that he was no opposition to changes in plays based on interpretation of directors but the actor had firm belief that specialized educational workshops and master classes were needed to educate artists in the field of Iranian traditional and ritual theater.
He hoped that organizers of the festival would figure out holding such workshops soon, expressing his willingness to share his experiences in the field of Iranian traditional and ritual theater with the young theater artists.
Nasim Taji dedicated Sunday's performance to Mr Nasirian and praised the legendary actor. Dariush Moadabian, noted theater director, actor and translator and Javad Ensafi watched the play as guests too.
