Practical Studies of Iranian Theater

Mohammad Hossein Naserbakhat was the secretary of the two-day seminar. Laleh Taghian, Mehrdad Rayani-Makhsous and Dr Farzan Sojoudi were its academic board and Mehdi Saffarinejad its executive secretary, Iran Theater reported.

Davoud Fathalibeigi, secretary of the 18^th Ritual/Traditional Theater Festival, said that researches were of paramount important for the field.

"I was concerned since the very first edition of the festival on how to conduct researches and studies on Iranian traditional and ritual theater to conserve the heritage in the course of time," Mr Fathalibeigi explained.

On how the foundation of the seminar was laid, the secretary of the festival said that he held irregular sessions with a few researchers and veteran artists during each edition and the efforts had led to an international seminar since the 13^th edition.

The seminar was a new beginning for researchers in the field and collections of the studies had turned into an academic source, said Mr Fathalibeigi.

Dr Mohammad Hossein Naserbakht, secretary of the seminar, which joined the festival in its 13^th edition, had turned into an essential and influential part of the event.

The seminar opens before the festival to benefit from knowledge of young and experienced researchers, Mr Naserbakht said.
