A ceremony to unveil eight books of the festival on Iranian theater was held on Wednesday, the last day of the 18th Ritual/Traditional Theater Festival, at Mashahir Hall of the City Theater Complex in Tehran.
Mahdi Shafiee, managing director of Dramatic Arts Center, expressed happiness about the books, saying that Iranian traditions and rituals must be preserved.
He reminded of a wish to open a research center for traditional and ritual theater, adding that achieving the wish would not be far given that the secretariat of Ritual/Traditional Theater Center was working.
The official said that managing the publishing issues was one of the responsibilities of the festival not to mention its most important obligation, which is organizing the festival.
He praised publishing these books, stressing that the studies by researchers of the field should be broader like the festival, which was seeing the involvement of all artists aged five to 85 years.
Mr Shafiee complained that many academicians had not been active in the field, stressing that the two-year gap between the editions of the festival must turn into an opportunity for secretary of the festival to encourage more researchers and educational activities.
Meanwhile, Davoud Fathalibeigi, secretary of the festival, which closed on Wednesday, welcomed the heart-warming speech by Mr Shafiee, hoping that an invitation would be released soon to call on all researchers of the field and their studies would be published before the 19th edition in two years.
