Director General of Dramatic Arts Center at Closing Ceremony:
Provincial Festival to Lead to Major Theater Development in Kermanshah
Director general of Dramatic Arts Center said at the closing ceremony at the 29th Kermanshah Province Theater Festival that the event would cause a major development in theater of the western province.
Mahdi Shafiee said at the ceremony on Wednesday that the province had high potentials and the performances should not be limited to the time of the festival.
The ceremony was attended by Hojatol Islam Jafari, director general of Kermanshah Culture and Islamic Guidance Department and some officials of the province, Iran Theater reported.
Mr Jafari stressed that theater in province needed more attention because it was facing a status below its dignity.
"It is a pity that theater has no good condition in a province known for its rich history, art and culture," the official said, stressing for improving the quality of performances to be able to attract audiences.
Mr Jafari praised the performances of this edition, saying that the festival should move in the path of development and progress.
He said he was assured of the talents of provincial theater community.
Meanwhile, statement of the jury members was read by Mohammad Reza Khaki and winners received the awards.
'Underground' and '119' were introduced to the 36th Fadjr International Theater Festival. Bijan Moradi received the best director award for 'Underground'. Yousef Mirzaei received the best playwright award for '119'.
