'Rostam and Esfandiar' in Armenia

The cast of the piece are involved in intensive rehearsal to be prepared for performance on October 1 to October 8 in Armenia, Iran Theater reported.

'Rostam and Esfandiar' is written by Mr Nasiri based on the tragedy of Rostam and Esfandiar from Shahnameh by the great Iranian poet Abolqasem Ferdowsi. The epic play is a participant of main section of the festival.

Shohreh Zera'atian is assistant director and music selector of the play, Ali Sohani costume designer and Ahmad Reza Hajjarzadeh a media advisor.   

Synopsis of the play says that Rostam and Esfandiar is one of the five important tragedies of Shahnameh. Esfandiar has powers of invulnerability. He and his army were dispatched to Zabolestan to enslave Rostam, the great hero of the land of Iran. Rostam and Esfandir fight each other until Rostam could become victorious against Esfandiar thanks to assistance of Simorgh, the mythological bird.

'Rostam and Esfandiar' will be performed in Yerevan at 17:00 local time, October 6.
