More than 200 street theater will be performed in Tehran and 13 provinces to commemorate Sacred Defense Week (marks the start of Iran-Iraq war (1980-1988) on September 22-29).
Theatre groups of Street Theater Center and Ravayate Fath Institute will perform street theater in Tehran and 13 provinces with the cooperation of Dramatic Arts Center.
Amir Nasir Beigi, director of Theatrical Group of Ravayate Fath Institute, said that provinces of Tehran, Isfahan, East Azarbaijan, Ilam, Bushehr, Khorasan Razavi, Khuzestan, Kurdistan, Kermanshah, Gilan, Sistan and Baluchistan, Lorestan and Markazi will host street theater shows in more than 1000 places, Iran Theater reported.
Mr Nasir Beigi said that Imam Hussein (AS) square, City Theater Complex and Ivane Entezar of Vali Asr Square will host street performances on various subjects in Tehran.
Meanwhile, Saman Khalilian, director of Street Theater Center, told Iran Theater that the street shows were chosen by an invitation from Theatrical Group of Ravayate Fath Institute and there would be more than 200 performances in 13 provinces.
Mr Khalilian added that Ilam, Khuzestan, Kurdistan and Kermanshah provinces would host two pieces and the rest would have one.
He explained that a modern Ta'zieh passion play, directed by Mahdi Daryaei, would be performed in 10 majlis in Tehran and provinces of Qazvin and Arak.
Mr Khalilian said that 'War and 1,000-Year Lonliness', directed by Parvaneh Alisafi, 'Team', directed by Masoud Barahimi, 'Looking for Him', directed by Mojtaba Darbandi and 'Frequency', directed by Maysam Sarabadani will be performed in Tehran.
Performances at the outdoor space of the City Theater Complex will be performed at 16:30, 17:00 and 17:30. Vali Asr Square will host street shows at 12:30 and 13:00 and Imam Hussein (AS) Square at 10:30 and 11:00.
