A decision will be made to reopen the halls

Iran Theater-Qader Ashna, director of Performing Arts Center, who was present at the meeting of the National Headquarters for fighting Coronavirus, explained the issues that discussed in this meeting. He emphasized that by the end of May, certain decisions will be made to hold theater festivals and reopen theaters hall. It is possible that theater performances will begin in the provinces with lesser coronavirus patients( White region).

The meeting was held today, Tuesday, May 12.

Ghader Ashna along with a number of other artistic directors , attended the meeting. He said:” We were very interested in talking closely with the officials of the National Headquarters for fighting Coronavirus and expressing our concerns about the state of the theater, which fortunately happened today.”

He added:” In this meeting, which was attended by Mr. Saeed Asadi, Director of City Theater Complex, Shahram Gilabadi, Managing Director of Theater Forum, and Mr. Ghobadi, Advisor to the Artistic Deputy, we expressed our concerns to our friends and announced that our first concern is to protect the lives and health of artists. In the second stage, their economic situation and livelihood are important to us. We raised the question of how we can create conditions for artists to survive while keep them healthy. In the next step, we described art festivals as another concern.”

“It was suggested that the theater in the provinces with less coronavirus patients can be reopen with health considerations and observance of all protocols, but this issue is up to the proposal and all aspects should be weighed and the conditions of those provinces should be fully evaluated.”
