The Festival Was Warmly Welcomed

Hosting 23 stage productions and 29 performances of the other sections –includes Ta’ziye, Tea House, and Marionette - the 14th International Ritual-Traditional Theater Festival passed halfway.

IRAN THEATER -- The main venue of the city theater hosts a performance called “Karma”, directed by Jae Hiun Woo, from South Korea, which will be on stage at 20:45, both on Monday and Tuesday, festival news headquarters reported.

“Hey You!” directed by Stefano Ghiunci, from Italy is being performed at 19 and 21, in the Sanghelach Theater. Also the first venue of the Iranshahr Theater witnesses “Thorny Tature” from Bulgaria at 19 and “Cho Bangali” by Sanjay Coumar Mahato, from India, is being presented through six days of the festival at the second venue of this theater.

The festival has also some fringes to offer, such as Traditional Haunt of Children which has been held for the first time in the festival’s history and exhibits puppetry. The Haunt and the puppet shows have been warmly welcomed by kids and their parents.

Some of Iranian shows, presented on Tuesday, are as follows:

“Zari Banou” co directed by Hamid Reza Azarang and Nima Dehghan, at 18:30 and 21, in the Char Sou hall of the city theater, "Withered Apples" written by Farshad Manzoofi-Niya, directed by Sajad Zare, in the Saye hall, at 17:30 and 20. Also “Bouk & Zava” is performed on Tuesday in the court-yard of the city theater, at 16:30.

In addition, some Ta’ziye performances are being shown to the public, such as “Indian Abbas”, “Berber’s War” and “Soleyman & Belgheys”.

 

The 14th International Ritual-Traditional Theater Festival will come to an end on Aug 16 at the Niavaran Foundation of the Artistic Creations.
