Zanjan City is looking forward to holding the 3rd Pantomime Festival
Iran Theater- The artistic director of the International Pantomime Festival announced that plans have been made for the third edition of this theatrical event and it is hoped that Zanjan city will host more works from foreign theater groups in September 2024.
After hosting the pantomime festival for two years, Zanjan city is looking forward to holding the third edition pantomime festival in Septmber-
Sasan Qajar, artistic director of the International Pantomime Festival, said about the third edition of this theatrical event: "The first edition of the pantomime festival was held nationally in Zanjan city, and Kazem Nazari, Director General of Dramatic Arts of Iran, recognized that in Iranian theater is lacking of pantomime and its place is empty in theater festivals, So good support has been provided."
He continued: " The 2nd Pantomime Festival, was held internationally and 5 foreign groups participated. By holding the 2nd pantomime festival, we were able to get 2 seats in the World Mime Organization. The Head of WMO was also present during the festival and festival was well organized with the participation of 23 works.”
The artist declared: "The importance of this festival as the only specialized and educational pantomime event is very high, and this festival is very important for the General Department of Dramatic Arts of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance and theater artists as well."
Qajar explained that planning for the third pantomime festival in Zanjan has been done.
"We have done all the planning for the third edition of the festival, but we are waiting for the opinion of the director general of culture and Islamic guidance of Zanjan province on how the festival will be held. Before Nowruz holiday, we had a meeting with them and explained all things on festival and provided them with films and books related to the festival so that they could make a decision.”
Qajar mentioned the the date of holding the international pantomime festival in Spetember every year, he said: "The artistic deputy of the Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance and the head of the World Mime Organization want to increase the number of international works of the festival, and we want to increase the international works in the 3rd Pantomime Festival.”
