Shahram Karami: Festivals can influence people's culture over time

Iran Theater-Shahram Karami considered the decentralization of art events across the country as an effective move and believes that the division of these events into provinces, small and large cities, will have an impact in the long term.

Shahram Karami has a BA in in dramatic literature and a MA in directing.  He graduated from the playwriting school in Hoze Honari and has a degree from the Faculty of Art and Architecture, and he received the first degree of art (equivalent to a doctorate) in 2014 from the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance. Shahram Karmi is a jury member of Razavi National Street Theater Festival in the south of Kerman.

Shahram Karami says: For several years, a kind of decentralization of art events has started throughout the country; In the past, most of the events were held in the capital of Iran and actually in the city of Tehran, but for several years many of these events have been divided and held in provinces, small and large cities, and this action plays its role in the long run.

He continues: "One of the successful examples of these artistic festival events is Marivan festival, which practically changed the culture of its city by holding an international festival. Also, children and young Adult Theater Festival, has turned Hamedan city into a pole of children and teenager shows, and more than a hundred thousand people attend this festival every year.

Karami adds: "Currently, the holding of the National Razavi Street Theater Festival in Jiroft County, south of Kerman, which is a historical city with pure native culture, is considered an impactful event that has made people familiar with a festival.  Theater troupes from all over the country have come and are performing street shows for the people.

Shahram Karami says: Razavi street theater festival is a thematic festival with religious content, The theme of the shows is about the eighth imam (AS). Jiroft is a religious city, people have their own beliefs, and they watch shows with respect, which will leave an impact over time.

The second Razavi National Street Theater Festival  is underway  in Jiroft city , South of Kerman.
